Ella Dunn
Born in 1994, Dunn spent her formative years growing up in the mid-north coast of NSW. She is currently based in Melbourne. In 2017 she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts.
Dunn’s art practice focuses on figurative, narrative based works. She uses paint to explore her immediate surroundings and delve into the intimacy of domestic scenes and personal experiences. She investigates connections to place, memory and relationships exploring the relationship between fictional and personal narratives and how they can be skewed or exaggerated.
Dunn was a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize (2022), recipient of the National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association Award for the VCA Graduate show (2016) and the recipient of the John Vickery Drawing Scholarship (2015).
